Jessica writes about WordPress and their handy moderating tool. I can vouch for this personally, as I just started using WordPress myself and was hit with a lot of spam the first day. A lot. The e-mail address I use for the blog was flooded.

All of it was online poker-related, for some inexplicable reason, but I have my settings configured such that most of it never hits my blog but is stopped and stored through the moderation function.

It would be nice, I think, if blog tools allowed us to all out block IPs or e-mail addresses; all my spammers have the same e-mail address. Unfortunately, with me, it’s rather like the concept of online voting - I think it would be cool and convenient, but I have no clue technologically how it would actually work.
