The building MPOW is housed in has changed hands, and there’s a little getting to know the new owners breakfast on Wednesday. The whole thing amuses me. It involves bagels and cream cheese, and I am so there.  Bagels are one of the things I miss most since I went on this lower carb diet of mine.

It’s not the bagels and cream cheese that amuse me.  It was the giant poster in the skywalk between the building and the parking garage.  The one that billed this breakfast meetup as a GALA.

A gala?  It’s bagels, cream cheese, coffee, juice.  In the building cafeteria.  For twenty minutes.

In my mind, a gala is formal.  There’s classical music, expensive dresses.  It’s in the evening.  But who knows…maybe the new owners will be wearing tuxedos.
