LibraryThing Redux
This evening I spent some time with LibraryThing, cataloging most of the contents of one of my manga shelves.
With comic books, it was a little hit and miss. Not every ISBN was listed, and not all of my comics have ISBNs. In that case, it was a matter of entering the record by hand. (My AACR2 cataloging is a little rusty these days).
Anyway, the contents of my current catalog is here.
Edit: After entering more than 30 books into LibraryThing, I have decided that for my purposes at least, it is not particularly superior to Reader2. Perhaps its because I began with comics, but I get frustrated when ISBN after ISBN after ISBN is not found and I have to enter 90% of the records by hand, and then those books do not appear with Amazon images when I know for a fact they’re available through the site.
I’m not sure whether that’s a problem on LibraryThing’s part, or the Library of Congress’s, but it makes entering books quite frustrating for me.
